You Aren't Good Enough...And That's Okay

"God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it." - Ephesians 2:8-9

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12

The most heart breaking thing I have ever heard is “I want to give my life to Christ, but I have to get my life straight before I ask Jesus to be my Savior.” That’s a famous misconception about our coming to Christ. Christ made salvation so simple, that our human minds can’t even comprehend its simplicity. I remember being in Sunday School when I was a little girl. I heard over and over how salvation was God’s FREE GIFT to each one of us. Basically, he wrapped His son, Jesus Christ, up in a big beautiful present to give to each and every one of us, individually. We did nothing (nor can we ever do anything) to deserve this free gift. The definition of the word gift is something given voluntarily without payment in return.

If we had to do something to EARN the gift of Salvation, then it would negate the fact that salvation IS a gift.

Dear friend, will you allow yourself to be let off the hook? Will you allow yourself to accept God’s FREE gift of salvation? You will never be good enough for God….and that’s okay. HE loves you right now exactly as you are. There is nothing you can do to make Him love you more than He does at this very moment, and there is nothing you can do that will make Him love you less. As we’ve mentioned in past posts, God isn’t standing up in Heaven with your good vs. bad checklist. The price has already been paid. The deal is done…it’s been signed, sealed and delivered. (Been there, done that and already wearing the T-Shirt) Don’t discredit the sacrifice Jesus paid on that horrible cross by not allowing yourself acceptance of that FREE gift.

If you are waiting until you get it all together before you come to Christ, you are denying yourself the most amazing gift ever. Aren’t you tired of searching for validation? Aren’t you tired of ‘cleaning house’ only for it to get dirty again? Aren’t you tired of trying to be “good enough” to win God’s approval? The fact is and still remains that none of us are worthy of Heaven, but we ARE able to accept the gift of salvation. Christ died for your sin because God knew you would NEVER be “good enough” to be with Him in Heaven, so give up on perfection already!

It’s a choice you have to make, Dear Reader. Do you CHOOSE to continue to listen to the lies of this world?...the ones that say:

‘You aren’t worthy’

‘You aren’t good enough’

‘You’ve fallen too far’

‘You’ve waited too long’

OR, do you CHOOSE to LIVE in FREEDOM and experience true joy and peace that only salvation brings by accepting Christ’s gift and His promise that:

‘You are Clean’ - Titus 3:4-5
But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit."

‘You are restored’ - Romans 3:21-22
"But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. "

‘You are lifted up’ - Psalm 40:1-3
"I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. 3 He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God."

‘You have a place in Heaven’ - John 3:16
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. "
