Kids in the Kitchen

"Honey, How Was Your Day?"

With our families running around to and from church activities, sporting events, and summer camps it’s easy to lose sight of who are children really are becoming. One way you can open a line of communication with them is to invite them into the kitchen for a fun-filled, family-friendly activity. This will serve two purposes 1) get your child involved in the kitchen responsibilities and 2) encourage communication between the child and parent.

Throughout the rest of the summer, we will be recommending recipes that are kid-friendly and something you can do together. We’ll call our series of recipes “Kids in the Kitchen”. We hope you enjoy!
PIZZA DIPPERS

Ingredients:

1 can refrigerated breadstick dough
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 1/2 teaspoon pizza seasoning
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
8 ounces prepared pizza sauce, warmed

Directions:
Heat oven to 350F. Grease 1 large or 2 small cookie sheets. Unroll dough and separate into sections. Cut each section in half so you have double the breadsticks. Place strips 1 inch apart on prepared cookie sheet. Brush with butter; sprinkle evenly with pizza seasoning. Bake at 350F for 11 to 17 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven; sprinkle strips with cheese. Bake for an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately with warmed pizza sauce as dip.
