Two for Tuesday

2 easy substitutions for the New Year.....
Most of us made resolutions a week or so ago. Even if we did not make a formal resolution or two, most women I know have said that they are going to make changes this year. Most of those changes revolve around Spiritual Growth and Weight Loss. If you too want to excel in these areas, here are 2 little changes you can make that will help you on your journey!!!!

1. Substitute one sugary or salty snack for a piece of fresh fruit. Rather than reach for that bag of chips or handy snack cake, grab an apple, banana, or orange instead! You will have to make sure that you have fruit handy ahead of time so that you won't be as tempted to go to the snack machine, BUT the payoff is amazing! Not only will you reduce your caloric intake, you will be substituting processed junk food for something God made to FUEL your body! Fruits are full of vitamins and fiber and natural sugars. Give it a try and I promise you will feel SO much better after a healthy snack!!!!

2. Substitute 15 minutes of Farmville, Facebook, Words with Friends, or other Ap with 15 minutes of reading your Bible. This is not cutting into your sleep, your family time, or work schedule. I am not suggesting that you give up your online time. Just give up 15 minutes of it. There are GREAT Bible Aps for the iPhone that will allow you to choose your favorite version of God's Word and will also help you design a reading plan if you choose. We all carry our phones everywhere we go anyway. You can get your 15 minutes in while you are waiting in line, during lunch, before you leave work, before you go to bed...why not read God's Word to your little one at bedtime? If you use "YouVersion", you can LISTEN to the Bible while you fold laundry or cook dinner!


These are 2 EASY little substitutions any of us can make!
